Bad Bugs with César de la Fuente-Nunez

Dr. César de la Fuente-Nunez is a postdoc working in Tim Lu’s lab (Synthetic Biology Group; Biological Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science).  César investigates humans’ complex relationship with bacteria in order to produce advanced antibiotics, therapeutics, and diagnostic tools. The first in a two-part series, this episode examines our relationship to ‘bad’ bacteria – the ones that cause infection – and César explains new strategies to find and improve natural antimicrobials in order to address the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
